In this workshop, participants will learn about bandit signs and the role they play in the predatory tactics employed by speculative realtors hoping to take advantage of vulnerable populations in Chicago's working class neighborhoods. Participants are encouraged to come in with bandit signs they've brought down themselves, but this is not necessary to participate. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to repurpose these signs into something functional as an antidote to the destructive nature of the original object, such as a panel for painting or a basket.
It's now more important than ever to ensure diversity in and access to the visual arts.
- access to arts education
- professional development for artists
- bringing national attention to Chicago's artists
