Bianca Bernardo is an artist developing hybrid practices between performance, education, curatorial practice and cultural administration. Her collaborative practice works with artists and independent art spaces between the cities of Rio de Janeiro, Recife, Lisbon, Buenos Aires, and Cidade do Mexico. She is currently the cultural manager of the independent art space SARACURA in Rio de Janeiro. While in Chicago, Bianca will intersect with PUBLIC SCHOOL, an upcoming Art Center exhibition about education and pedagogy, and she will participate in a city-wide Teaching Artist Summit to take place at the Art Center on April 29, 2017.
It's now more important than ever to ensure diversity in and access to the visual arts.
- access to arts education
- professional development for artists
- bringing national attention to Chicago's artists
