About Hyde Park Art Center

PARKING – Please Plan Ahead

If you are driving, you will want to plan ahead. While we have a parking lot, it can fill up, so here are some words of advice:
  • Arrive early, you will have a better chance to find a parking space.
  • If the lot is full, you can park on the street anywhere around the Art Center; however it can take up to 10-15 minutes to find a spot (especially around 6pm when people are returning home from work).
  • If you have a tough time parking directly around the Art Center, we suggest proceeding one block west of the Art Center, to Lake Park Blvd.
  • Harper Court is located at 53rd and Lake Park, and has paid parking. http://fiftythird.uchicago.edu/category/tags/harper-court
PUBLIC TRANSIT - There are a couple options for CTA and Metra
  • CTA bus options are #6 and #28, both of which stop on 51st next to the Art Center
  • The #6 bus runs down State Street in the Loop (accessible from the red line, or a block from the brown/purple/pink lines)
  • Metra’s “Metra Electric” line starts downtown and stops at the “51st/53rd” stop, right next to the Art Center. When exiting the train, proceed north to the 51st street exit, which exits just across the southern side of the Art Center.
